Achievements

‘Theatres- Pune’ has made a mark in many competitions in the last few years. Few of our achievements were:
- Five Awards including awards for best lights, music and direction along with a consolation prize for acting for the play “Asach ek Diwas”, at the competition organized by Aradhana Natya Sangh, in June’99.
- Achieved Five Awards including awards for best lights, music and direction along with a consolation prize for acting for the play “Kaifiyat”, written by our own member Sameer Vidvans at the competition organized by Aradhana Natya Sangh, in June’02
- Achieved Seven Awards by performing the play “Kaifiyat” at “Saheba Karandak” Nashik – organized by Baba’s Event Management in September - October 2002.
‘Theatres- Pune’ has also performed around 50 performances of the play “Chandrapurchya Junglat…?” written by Vikram Watwe. This play has been performed in various schools, colleges, Public Heath Centers, Slum areas, for the Rotary Club and last but not the least, at the Prithvi Festival which was recently organized in Pune by Rangawardhan.
“Safar” written by Mr Vijay Tendulkar was performed at the Marathi Shahitya Sammelan which was held at M.I.T. College in December 1999.
‘Theatres- Pune’ is the first theatre group that started a novice activity of performing at an Adlabs Multiplex. We did two shows of “Chandrapurchya Junglat…?” by Vikram Watwe and “Sathecha Kay Karaycha” by Dr Rajeev Naik in the Adlabs Multiplex at Nashik, in 2005 which got a standing ovation from a packed auditorium.
In continuation of our we went on to felicitate the team of the “WADALWAAT”- the famous marathi tele serial in March 2007. Here the artists performed scenes which were written specially for this stage show and not seen in the serial.
Recently ‘Theatres- Pune’ has come up with another novel program, MAITAR, which is being well received by the audience. Here six friends who are upcoming and promising in their respective fields in the arts come together to informally chat on stage in a well designed and engrossing session. It is not only their star presence but their experiences which lends an important archival value to this show. This group comprises : SUBODH BHAVE[ theatre and films], SHARVARI JEMENIS [ dance and films], SHAUNAK ABHISHEKI[ classical singer], BELA SHENDE [ singer], SALIL KULKARNI [ music composer/singer], SANDEEP KHARE [ poet].
